King News 11 September – Unity State Governor Riek Biem has urged the residents of Mayiandit County to foster peace amidst regional challenges. Speaking at a gathering on Tuesday at Rubkuay Freedom Square, Biem encouraged the community to prioritize harmony over concerns of insecurity stemming from neighboring states and administrative regions.
He stated that his government will support Mayiandit County in terms of development to give basic amenities like a phone mobile network, healthcare, the restoration of education, and inclusive employment possibilities.
“Unity State government will not leave an inch of obliviousness toward the problems of the Mayiandit Community in the hard time of flooding and inflation,” Biem said.
Biem reiterated his commitment to outlawing some resentful cultural practices that are detrimental to society, emphasizing that such behaviors can be carried out in a peaceful manner across the state.
“I have banned some of our common cultural activities that are disastrous to our children; this includes scarification and removal of teeth as parts of initiation practiced, including early child marriage. And concludes that with peace, all our wants can be achievable,” he stated.
However, Biem promised to strive for a peaceful, inclusive Unity State that is harmonious with its surroundings.
