Making his first visit to Yambio, the “Shida Za Dunia” hitmaker delivered a powerful message centered on unity, love, and the preservation of peace. Speaking to reporters shortly after his arrival, Chameleon emphasized that peace is the cornerstone of progress and coexistence.
“My peace message, let’s continue preserving peace,” said Chameleon. “Otherwise, if there was no peace, I wouldn’t be here. Being here shows enough that peace has started to prevail. Let the South Sudanese keep on loving each other, not only themselves but also everybody, love Africa and keep peace prevailing.”
The peace concert, set for Wednesday, July 9, coincides with South Sudan’s Independence Day celebrations and is expected to draw thousands from across the region. Chameleone’s visit is part of a broader initiative to promote regional harmony through music and cultural exchange.
His presence in Yambio was made possible by local promoter Yambio Don and Bafuka Construction Company Limited, among other supporters who played a key role in organizing the concert and related events.
Chameleone also took a moment to recognize the Ugandan diaspora in Western Equatoria State, praising their peaceful coexistence with host communities in South Sudan.
“To the Ugandans living in Yambio and Western Equatoria State, we miss you back home,” he said. “Thank you for being good Ugandans wherever you are. Be peaceful people and good ambassadors of Uganda.”
Following his arrival, Chameleon paid a courtesy visit to the residence of the Acting Governor of Western Equatoria State, H.E. Daniel Rimbasa. He was accompanied by prominent South Sudanese artists, including Mr. Lengs and Juna De Star, highlighting the spirit of collaboration that underpins his peace mission.
