The authority of Northern Bahr El Ghazel state has confirmed the execution of Sudanese trader Sabre Abu Sam in connection to the defilement of the five-year-old girl, Late Abuk Lual, three years ago in Aweil.

The execution was carried out in the presence of Governor Simon Ober, the victim’s parents, prison officials, and judicial representatives at Wau Central Prison.

Speaking to the journalists in Wau on Wednesday after the execution, the governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazel state, Simon Ober Mawut, said the execution of Sabre Abdalla has been implemented today (Wednesday) in Wau Central Prison.

’I want to confirm to the general public that final justice has been served for our departed angel, Abuk Lual. This clearly shows that our laws are indeed supreme. I have witnessed this execution being implemented, to the doubting Thomas’s that the case has finally been brought to an end with the execution of the cartridge.’’ Simon said.

In 2022, the High Court in Aweil sentenced Abu Sam to death by hanging after he was found guilty of defiling and killing 5-year-old Abuk Lual Laul.

Sabre Abu Sam was reportedly molesting a five-year-old girl at Ayuang Residential Area in Aweil town of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State. Consequently, on May 30th of the same year, the accused was sentenced to death by hanging by the Aweil High Court. Since then, the perpetrator has been held at Wau Central Prison, awaiting his execution date.
