King News 25th Sept Juba – The Vice President for Youth and Gender Cluster met with the Revitalized Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) today to comprehensively review South Sudan’s Transitional Period, particularly in light of its recent extension. This meeting was a pivotal moment for both parties as they assessed the progress made and the hurdles still facing the nation.
After the meeting, RJMEC Chair Major General Charles Gituai expressed appreciation for the government’s efforts, stating, “We commend the government for sustaining relative peace during this transitional period.” He highlighted how this stability is essential for the nation’s future, noting that peace is the foundation upon which lasting development can be built.”
Vice President for youth and gender cluster Rebecca Nyandeng took the opportunity to express her gratitude for RJMEC’s continued support, affirming, “We are committed to making the most of this extended period to fulfill the hopes of our people.” Her statement underscored the government’s determination to utilize this time effectively to address the pressing needs of the population and to ensure that the promises made during the peace process are realized.
Both parties emphasized the critical need for ongoing unity and cooperation.
