Unity State Governor, Riek Biem, has called on residents to embrace peace, unity, and goodwill as they are ready for the December 2024 Christmas celebrations.
Speaking at St. Martin De Porrets over the weekend, Biem highlighted the importance of fostering a spirit of giving and supporting the needy, emphasizing that the true essence of Christmas lies in kindness and communal harmony.
“To remind you, this season used to come with a lot of challenges, including the recent outbreak of cholera in the state. I called for a peaceful and harmonious celebration, urge the congregations to foster an environment of love and understanding,” Biem said.
He urged local communities, businesses, security sectors, and all government departments to remain vigilant during the festive season.
“This season often comes with challenges, including the recent cholera outbreak in the state,” he warned.
He stressed the need for safety measures to prevent the disease’s spread and reaffirmed the Unity State government’s commitment to maintaining peace.
“I urge everyone to celebrate in a peaceful and harmonious manner, fostering an environment of love and understanding,” he stated.
