President Salva Kiir Mayardit has urged newly appointed government officials to dedicate themselves to serving the people with integrity and commitment, emphasizing peace, unity, and development as the cornerstones of his administration.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony at the State House in Juba on Wednesday, President Kiir reminded new appointees that public service is a responsibility of trust, not privilege, and urged them to uphold national interests above personal gain.
Those sworn in included Tut Gatluak Manime as Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs, Africano Mande Gedima as Minister of Presidential Affairs, Dr. Barnaba Bak Chol as Minister of Finance and Planning, and Athian Akec Ong’a as Head of the Legal Department.
The President also called on the officials to work collectively in promoting good governance, peace, and economic stability.
He said his administration remains focused on strengthening institutions and tackling the economic challenges facing South Sudan.
