President Salva Kiir has urged Rabi Mujung, the newly appointed Governor of Central Equatoria State, to lead with integrity, fairness, and a strong sense of national unity.
Speaking at Mujung’s swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday, Kiir emphasized the need for close collaboration with security forces to maintain peace and stability in the state, particularly in the capital city, Juba.
He instructed Mujung to ensure land is fairly distributed to address the demands of Juba’s expanding population.
The head of the state highlighted the necessity to allocate plots for residential housing, investment projects, and government facilities.
He strongly condemned land grabbing, warning that it continues to stir conflict among communities.
The president also warned against ethnic divisions and called on all South Sudanese to foster unity in the ongoing effort to build a stable and peaceful nation.
He further directed the state government to focus on fixing Juba’s deteriorating roads, stressing that solid infrastructure is key to progress and efficient public services.
On his part, pledged to carry out the President’s directives and work towards achieving peace and development in Central Equatoria.
