On Wednesday, leaders from Panyijiar County paid a courtesy visit to Dor Daffir Jam, the newly appointed Director General in the Unity State Ministry of Information and Communication, to congratulate him on his appointment.

They described the appointment as a proud moment for the people of Panyijiar and lauded Governor Dr. Joseph Manytuil for entrusting their son with the key position.

The leaders included Cde. Simon Gatmai Maweah Machok, Executive Director of Panyijiar County; Col. Stephen Madok Gatphan Deng, former Executive Director of Panyijar County; Sultan Stephen Nuer Tai Kham, Deputy Chairperson of the Unity State Bentiu High Court; Sultan Buar Dak Long, a member of the Unity State High Court; and Sultan James Mabith Gai Bol, a member of the Unity State Bentiu Town Bench Court.

On his part, Jam applauded the leaders for the visit and expressed gratitude to Governor Manytuil for the confidence placed in him.

He pledged to serve with dedication and professionalism to advance the ministry’s mandate and strengthen communication across Unity State.

Jam is a media professional, filmmaker, and film director with extensive experience in communication, journalism, and digital media.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from St. Paul’s University in Nairobi, Kenya.

Before his appointment, Jam served as the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Manager at El-Merreikh Bentiu Sports Club, where he oversaw the club’s digital communication and media operations.

Over the years, he has earned recognition for his contributions to media development, film production, and public communication in Kenya, South Sudan, and beyond.

His appointment as Director General of the Unity State Ministry of Information and Communication marks a significant milestone in his career.

At a relatively young age, Jam is the youngest Director General appointed to the ministry since the establishment of the Unity State government, reflecting growing confidence in the leadership potential of young professionals in South Sudan.
