President Kiir holds talks with Sudan’s Agar on strengthening bilateral ties

President Salva Kiir on Monday hosted the Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, Malik Agar, in Juba to discuss ways to bolster bilateral relations between South Sudan and Sudan, with a focus on enhancing economic and security cooperation.

According to the Office of the President, Monday Semaya, Minister of Foreign Affairs, noted that the meeting centered on strengthening comprehensive economic ties between the two neighboring countries.

He added that the Sudanese delegation briefed President Kiir on the current security and economic situation in Sudan, while also addressing broader issues related to regional peace and stability.

Kumba reiterated South Sudan’s dedication to nurturing strong relations with the Sudanese government.
“We assured our brothers and sisters in Sudan of Juba’s unwavering commitment to peaceful cooperation and common development,” he said.

On his part, Isam Mohammed Hassan, Sudan’s Ambassador to South Sudan, reaffirmed Khartoum’s commitment to deepen collaboration with Juba across all sectors.
