On Wednesday, a high-level delegation from the South Sudan Freight Forwarders Association (SSFFA) met with officials from the South Sudan Revenue Authority’s (SSRA) Monitoring Office in Mombasa, Kenya.
In a statement, Deng Daniel, President of the SSFFA, noted that the engagement took place on the sidelines of the International Trade and Logistics Summit (ITLS 2025), bringing together key stakeholders to enhance coordination between freight forwarders and customs authorities operating along the Northern Corridor.
He said discussions centered on strengthening operational efficiency, promoting uniformity in customs procedures, and improving service reliability.
Other agenda points included the introduction of a structured complaints and feedback mechanism, addressing issues related to cargo diversion, taxation, and currency handling, as well as raising awareness among importers and clearing agents.
The SSRA delegation, led by Deputy Assistant Commissioner Maj. Marko Yaach and Maj. Peter Diing Ater of the Economic Intelligence Unit commended SSFFA for its professionalism and constructive engagement.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration aimed at streamlining customs processes as South Sudan moves toward the full implementation of the Single Customs Territory framework.
