The Central Equatoria State Governor and the Delegation have launched the Hayba Food product to the residents of Luri Payam of Juba County, Central Equatoria State today.
The food items were produced by the South Sudan national company, Prestige Millers Limited.
Speaking to the residents, Governor Rabi Mujung Emmanuel stated that the financing of infrastructure development is the government’s social and economic development for the people.
“We as government provide social and economic development to our people and with this focus area, I’m sure you are going to help us in implementing these service delivery to our people. Second one is environmental and waste management, we are looking forward, not only to Juba City be clean and our environment to be conducive for our citizens to leave. And we really want to collect the wastes through scientific approaches and that is through waste proper management, this will be the responsibility of Juba City Council to provide for us. But you are also going to be part and percal of this program and I am sure the Juba City Council Major is around. And with this focus, that means you’re now ready to assist the Juba City Council in making Juba clean of waste,” Mujung Said.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Stephen Lado Onesimo, highlighted that in Central Equatoria state, 83% percent of the population are rural and the economy is based on agricultural production, while 17 percent of the population is urban.
“We need this company to expand to the economy of scale. It means there are a lot of organizations of Agricultural activities to be done related to these products. They are now three sorghums, millets and maize, it means Central Equatoria State, South Sudan for this company to continue, agricultural activities must be done so that Hayba must be the buyers of these raw material to come for with value addition. There is a long chain process.,” Stephen said.

“The product that we are putting out today as you can witness on my right and on my left, we have the Hayba fortified maize flour and it’s available in 1kg, we also have it in 2kgs, 5kgs, 10kgs, 25 and 50 and it is a nutritious, reliable and locally milled maize flour. We also have the Haiba wheat flour which is available in 1kg, 2kgs, 5kg, 10kgs, 25 and 50. It is also very smooth, reliable and fresh wheat flour.” she added
“We also have sorghum which is one of my favourites personally. I don’t know what is your favourite in these products. We have sorghum available in 25kgs, 50 and the capacity of our production at PML, Prestige Millers Limited for the Hayba products as we speak today is maize is 500 metric tanks which is 1,000 bags of 50kgs per day and for the wheat flour it is 100 metric tanks and that is 2,000 of 50kg bags and for sorghum our capacity is 50 metric tanks per day which is 1,000 of the 50kg bags per day and because at PML, the home of Haiba, we believe that together we rise, we offer good quality services, service delivery and that is fortified nutrition for healthier communities. At PML we are committed to improving the nutritional value of every meal.” she added.

She further noted that, they have launched the product Hayba to the market, it has been a long journey to bring the products, and it has been trusted, that it’s a quality product that was monitored and test by the people they are working with
